Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all sales, services, and transactions with Glamour Carpets & Beds Ltd (“the Company”). By engaging with our services or purchasing our products, the customer (“Customer”) agrees to comply with these Terms.
Definitions
- “Goods”: Refers to all products supplied by the Company, including carpets, beds, and accessories.
- “Services”: Includes delivery, installation, and any other services provided by the Company.
Orders and Acceptance
- All orders are subject to acceptance by the Company.
- The Company reserves the right to refuse any order at its discretion.
Payment Terms
- A 50% deposit is required at the time of order placement. This deposit is non-refundable unless
otherwise agreed in writing. - The remaining balance must be paid in full upon completion of the job, delivery, or installation,
whichever applies. - Accepted payment methods: cash, credit/debit card, or bank transfer.
Cancellations, Returns, and Exchanges
- All deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The Company operates a strict no refund policy on all purchases.
- Exchanges may be accepted within 7 days of purchase, provided the Goods are unused, in original condition, and in original packaging.
- Credit notes, where applicable, are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
- Custom-made or bespoke Goods cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty.
Warranties and Guarantees
- All Goods are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable.
- The Company offers a 12-month installation warranty from the date of completion.
- Warranties are void if Goods are not maintained according to the manufacturer’s care instructions.
Pricing, Quotations, and Measurements
- All prices are in GBP (£) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
- Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
- The Company reserves the right to amend prices in case of errors, omissions, or changes in
circumstances. - Quotes are based on a complimentary measuring service. While we ensure accurate measurements, it is ultimately the Customer’s responsibility to verify measurements before confirming an order.
- If the Customer has specific preferences regarding how the carpet should be measured, cut, or fitted, these must be communicated before accepting the quote and before work begins. The Company will not be responsible for alterations required due to undisclosed preferences after work has commenced.
Delivery, Installation, and Cancellations
- Delivery dates are estimates and may change due to circumstances beyond our control.
- The Customer is responsible for ensuring the premises are ready for delivery and installation, including the removal of existing flooring and furniture unless otherwise agreed.
- The Company does not move furniture, kitchen appliances, or heavy items as part of the fitting service. If required, this must be arranged in advance and may incur additional charges.
- If agreed, all contents must be emptied by the customer before being moved (e.g., clothes emptied from wardrobe). The Company is not responsible for any damage if items are not emptied beforehand.
- In some cases, doors may require trimming due to the height of the new flooring. This may only be determined once the flooring is being laid. Additional charges will apply for this service.
- While every effort is made to ensure a professional installation, minor cosmetic marks (e.g., scuffs on skirting boards, walls, or door frames) may occur as part of the normal fitting process. The Company is not liable for such incidental damage.
- Additional charges may apply if the Customer has not prepared the site adequately, causing delays.
- If a fitting appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee may apply.
Fitting Appointments and Time Estimates
- Fitting appointments are estimates and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
- The Company is not responsible for any delays caused by third-party fitters or unexpected work
complications. - All vinyl flooring must be laid on a smooth and prepared subfloor. Any subfloor imperfections can affect the quality of the installation. If the Customer requires additional preparation (plyboard, hardboard, screed), this must be agreed in advance and additional charges will apply.
Customer’s Responsibility for Electric Wiring and Cables
- The Customer must ensure all wiring (telephone, internet, alarm, etc.) is secured before installation.
- The Company will not be responsible for any damage to unsecured wiring if not disclosed before fitting.
- It is the Customer’s responsibility to inform the Company of any wiring in the installation area.
Carpet Characteristics & Shading
- All carpets are subject to natural shading effects, which may result in variations in appearance over time.
- Shading is a normal characteristic of many carpets and is not considered a manufacturing fault or defect. The Company is not responsible for any visual changes caused by normal wear and tear.
Colour Matching and Dye Variations
- Sample materials may not always be from the same dye batch as the final carpet being installed. Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed.
- Variations in shade and tone may occur due to differences in dye lots and exposure to
Limitation of Liability
- The Company’s liability for any claim related to the supply of Goods or Services is limited to the
purchase price of the Goods or Services provided. - The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
- The Company is not liable for any property damage beyond minor cosmetic marks arising from
normal installation processes.
Data Protection
- Glamour Carpets & Beds Ltd complies with the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Customer data is collected and used only for processing orders and delivering services.
- Personal information will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
Ownership of Goods
- All Goods supplied by the company remain the property of the Company until full payment has been received and cleared.
- If the Customer defaults on payment, the Company reserves the right to remove the Goods at the Customer’s expense.
Force Majeure
- The Company is not liable for delays or failure to fulfil contractual obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, supply chain disruptions, transport delays, or government regulations.
Dispute Resolution
- In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the issue amicably in good faith before pursuing legal action.
- If resolution cannot be reached, the matter shall be referred to an independent mediator before
litigation. - Any disputes shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
By placing an order with Glamour Carpets & Beds Ltd, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
